The CSA Z462 Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace was just released its 4th edition on January 8, 2018 and now requires risk assessments for live electrical work tasks. A mandatory requirement of CSA Z462 is that an employer must have a documented and implemented electrical safety program. WH&S regulations continue to evolve in their recognition of electrical hazards. WorkSafeMB, Part 38 Electrical Safety has specific content in relation to live electrical work. Developing and implementing an electrical safety program forms the basis of good due diligence.
