Patrick LeBlanc
CHES Maritime is pleased to announce the successful applicant for the Per Paasche Bursary, valued at $1000, is Patrick LeBlanc.
Patrick is the son of CHES Maritime member Dave LeBlanc. Dave is with the NS Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, Building Project Services Division’ Engineering Design and Construction – Project Management, based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia
Patrick is a grade 12 student at Charles P. Allen High School, Bedford, NS. Patrick will be continuing his education at the University of Ottawa in the fall studying for his Bachelor of
Applied Science Mechanical Engineering. “I’m pursuing a career in the field of Engineering because of my strong interest in math, and science, and goal to work with innovations on the leading edge of technology.”
Patrick has an exemplary academic record and has been on the Charles P Allen Principal’s list in 2016 and 2017 for maintaining an above 90% average. Patrick has received the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award accomplished through maintaining weekly skill development, volunteer work, physical activity, and exhibit independent survival skills in a wilderness environment. Patrick was also involved with Bedford Skating Club CanSkate as a Volunteer Program Assistant, coaching, helping teach children through established drills and providing encouragement and support through direct interaction with skaters.
Patrick is also musically talented and a member of the Charles P. Allen Jazz and Concert Band.
