The Canadian Standards Association is pleased to announce that the draft new edition of CSA Z8000 Canadian health care facilities is now at the Public Review stage. Since it was first released in 2011 this standard has quickly become a common reference for health care facilities across the country. It is increasingly referenced in Provincial/Territorial planning documents and RFPs, and is becoming a major influence in Canadian health care facility planning, design, and construction.
As with every CSA standard, Z8000 is a living document, and the new edition contains new and revised material to make it a better and more comprehensive standard. The current draft reflects the best efforts of the committees that developed it, and the 60-day Public Review process is meant as a way to get input from the broader health care community. For anyone involved in health care facilities – whether as planner, designer, builder, or user, we invite you to take this opportunity to provide suggestions on the next edition of this important standard.
To review the draft and post comments, please visit CSA Group Public Review site at the following link: http://publicreview.csa.ca/Home/Details/2564. (New visitors will be asked to complete a very brief registration to see the draft.)
Public Review comments will be accepted until June 20, 2017. We look forward to your input!
