Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre
Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre is located in the northwest of Calgary, on the Foothills Medical Centre Campus. The building is 127,000 square metres, covering 12 floors. The Arthur Child Building officially opened its doors to patients in late October 2024, marking a significant milestone in advanced healthcare which is dedicated to pioneering research and early cancer treatment. This state-of-the-art building houses an array of highly sophisticated and precision-engineered systems, for the University of Calgary, Alberta Precision Laboratory, Cellular Therapy Laboratory, Transplant Laboratory South, and various in-patient and out-patient services. Designed to meet nearly all modern building codes, the facility boasts a prestigious LEED Gold certification, featuring innovative technologies such as smart glass, advanced energy conservation for lighting, heating, and cooling.
